Are you seeking a rewarding position that makes a difference in people's lives? If so, Catholic Charities has an immediate part-time Driver opening for our Adult Day Center located in Madison. Our Driver provides safe, courteous and on-schedule transportation for our participants to and from daily outings in the community. The Driver will also accompany the group on their outings, providing extra supervision and assistance.

The vehicle is a 2024 Chevy 4500 Collins bus with seating for 12, plus 2 wheelchair bays with a wheelchair lift. The Driver does not need a CDL.

We offer:

1st shift schedule - Monday - Friday 10am-2pm
Starting wage $15.00 per hour

Client Services:
Provide participants with transportation in a fully insured company vehicle.
Physically and/or verbally assist participants in and out of the vehicle, including those in wheelchairs.
Establish a supportive relationship with each participant through daily interaction with them.
Assist staff with participants on the daily outings, providing active supervision and assistance,
Treat participants with respect, courtesy and compassion at all times.
Partake in regular daily programing/activities with participants on days when there is not an outing scheduled or if the planned outing gets cancelled.
Ensure the company vehicle is clean, organized and well-maintained. This will include scheduling maintenance and safety appointments, taking the vehicle to the appointments, ensuring sufficient gas levels, managing the gas card, etc.
Maintain valid driver’s license and follow all traffic laws and regulations.
Attend ongoing staff trainings.

Qualifications:

21 years of age or older, High School Diploma or GED.
Valid driver’s license, proof of auto insurance, and a satisfactory driving record are required.
Experience working with adults who are elderly and/or with developmental and or physical disabilities or willingness to learn.
Strong communication skills, interpersonal skills and patience.
Physical requirements include: some bending and crouching in small areas, sitting for up to 20 minutes at a time and up to two hours in total, occasional minimal-assist physical transfers up to 50 pounds, pushing, pulling and maneuvering to position wheelchairs within the vehicle.
